Finding Your CBI Account ID
What! You forgot your CBI account ID?
Don't be concerned - you are perfectly normal.
Fortunately, there are a few ways for you to get your account ID:
-
Check your mailing label! The mailing labels for the Purim order form,
for example, have your CBI account ID printed in the upper right hand
corner of the label.
-
Check your synagogue statement. Your account ID is
printed there.
-
Call or send mail to the
synagogue office
requesting that they look up your account ID and e-mail it back to you.
Please make sure to identify yourself so that they can confirm you are a member.
Why do I need an account ID?
Your CBI account ID (combined with your last name) will be your ticket to
various private areas on the CBI web site.
It will let the web site identify you and verify that you are indeed a member
of our community.
This verification is a necessary evil because the CBI web site is a public
place.
It would be inappropriate to publish member listings or make transactions
available without some security measure.
The reason we use your account ID is because it is unique to you and is
easier to administer than setting up passwords for everyone.
If you have suggestions for better alternatives for security, please send them
to the webmaster.
