Re: New Details for Suburban Essex Redistribution Project

 

Thank you everyone for your patience and flexibility—I hope all of you will still be able to help with this project. A couple of minor changes have been made, so please read ahead carefully.

 

As most of you know, SERP has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 9th and Monday, February 10th.  The truck will already be unloaded, so that is a huge job that we do not have to do.  We are planning to accomplish all the sorting and redistributing to agency locations in the warehouse on Sunday. We will begin at 8:30am, and must have the job completed by 4pm.  Monday will be for agency pick up only.  So we hope all of you will be able to join us on Sunday.  As previously planned we will have shifts, 8:30-11am, 11-2pm, and 2-4pm.  These times are guide lines only.  If there are different hours that you can be available, just let us know so we will be able to plan ahead.  I am asking everyone to please contact me ASAP, either by email at mailto:serp@cbi-nj.org or call me directly 973-912-9862 to let me know if and when you will be joining us. Also, if you know of anyone who has not received this notice but would like to participate, please give him or her all pertinent details. New volunteers are certainly welcome.

 

As a reminder, each volunteer will be required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival at the warehouse. Parents will be responsible for signing for their children. All children must be under adult supervision at all times.

 

 

Unless we get a real heat wave very soon  (and I know many of you are hoping!), the warehouse will be very cold. Please dress warmly; layers, along with hats and gloves are suggested.

 

Finally, there will be bagels, donuts, juice and coffee for snacks.  As there are no restaurants in the area we suggest you bring a bag lunch.

I-78 East toward NJ Turnpike. Bear right at split toward airport.

Take Exit #58A toward Port Newark; bear left at next split. Merge onto Port Street.

Stay left: follow signs to Port Newark. Go through traffic light and cross over NJ Tpke.

Stay left; do Not go to Corbin Street.

Turn right onto Marlin Street, 1st left off Marlin onto Distribution Street. Last building on right, #261. There is a yellow “Entrance” sign on the door.
