HIGH HOLIDAY JR. CONGREGATION FOR CHILDREN

 GRADES: KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 8th

RESERVATION FORM

FINAL DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS: SEPTEMBER 5

We look forward to sharing a meaningful New Year with your family.  This year we are providing several different options for our students.  Please fill out the form below and provide us with all pertinent information.

Program Description:

K- 1: Children in Kindergarten and 1st grade will meet together in the Library from 10:30-1:00.  During the morning the children will participate in a short tefila service, enjoy a snack and take part in a round robin of activities.  These children will not be allowed to leave the library alone.  They will be escorted to the bathrooms and may only leave the program if accompanied by an adult.

2nd -5thGrades: Children in these grades will participate in a rotation between the activity tents in the parking lot and a tefila in the chapel.  During one period on the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah, they will be escorted to the cul de sac to participate in a tashlich service.  This program will also take place from 10:30 – 1:00.  Snack will be served.  During the week prior to the holiday, name tags and schedules will be sent out.  Children must be wearing their name tags when they arrive on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  Please note that without the parental sign off below, no child will be permitted to leave the tent activities without an adult.  NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE CHAPEL DURING SERVICES.  Please help us to maintain proper decorum by discussing this condition with your child.

6th -8th Grades: New this year, our Middle School aged students will participate in their own High Holiday program.  Meeting from 10:30 – 1:00 in a tent in the parking lot, they will participate in an hour service followed by a Kiddush and activities.  During the first weeks of school, all students will be asked to sign up to lead a piece of the service. In order to guarantee the success of this new program, please discuss with your child the structure of the day.  Once again, in order to maintain the proper decorum of the holidays, students who leave the tent will be expected to leave the tent area and will not be permitted to return.

Reservations:

In order to ensure a successful and safe experience for the children in each group, there will be a maximum number of children permitted in each group.  Experience shows that we “max” out much earlier than our deadline.  Therefore, it is important that all forms be handed in as soon as possible.  We do not want to “close” your child out of this program.  Our final deadline is September 5.  No forms will be accepted after this date

Confirmation: Required name tags and schedules  will be mailed out the week of September 11
