Minyan Me'at

A Monthly Lay-Led Service

The purpose of the minyan me'at is to give people the opportunity to participate and lead the Saturday morning Shabbat service. Post-bar and bat mitzvahs may want to chant their haftorah in honor of their anniversary. Or they want to learn another haftorah. An adult might like to read Torah. Maybe you just want an aliyah. Whatever the reason, this is why we meet on the second Saturday of the month from September - June. Approximately 30 - 40 people attend this service each month. Of course you can also join the minyan even if you don't want to lead anything. For those interested in doing something, priority is given to teenagers. In fact, one of our goals would be to have the entire service led by teenagers. We also encourage adults to learn something new. Some adults who will be participating in Sisterhood or Men's Club Shabbat like to "practice" at minyan me'at in front of a smaller crowd. There are also two prayers (ashrei and Anim Z'mirot) which children (under the age of 13) can lead. If you are interested, feel free to join us. If you would like to participate, feel free to send an email to us and a member from the committee will get back to you.

See the for information about future Minyan Me'at dates.
